How we do it

Straight flights are easily fitted, but curved or winding staircases require careful templating. We visit properties in Streatham to take measurements, display samples and discuss your custom runner requirements.

The process - how we do it

While a straight set of stairs is fairly straightforward, if you have winders—stairs that go around corners—you'll need a template and we'll visit you in Streatham. We measure the flights of stairs, bring samples and discuss your requirements. At this stage many of our designer and architect clients provide us with a design.

After the quote - what happens?

After quote acceptance, we return to template complex designs or winding staircases. Your carpet is ordered, delivered, precision-cut, then whipped and bound or tape-bordered. Following thorough quality checks, we deliver and install your finished runner.

A tread that is used where a stair turns a horizontal angle, or shaped like a wedge or truncated wedge—basically, it is a stair that goes around a corner.

A stair runner is a carpet that goes in the middle of a flight of stairs leaving the treads visible on either side.

Whipping is an edge treatment applied to stair runners to seal and protect the edges. It creates a clean, professional finish.

A bordered runner has decorative tape or fabric sewn along the edges, creating a contrasting or complementary design element.
